Diamonds might be the hardest substance on Earth however the mere touch of your diamond with your finger can instantly reduce your diamond's sparkle.
Not to worry, we can get that gorgeous sparkle back in no time!
All you need is:
fill a bowl with very warm (almost hot) water with dishwashing soap;
soak for 20 to 40 minutes;
gently brush with a very soft toothbrush - the toothbrush should be new and should be reserved exclusively to clean your diamond jewellery; and
air dry.
How often to clean your diamond jewellery
We recommend having your jewellery professionally cleaned once or twice a year and best to also clean your jewellery at home on a weekly basis.
Things to avoid when cleaning your jewellery
Ultrasonic Jewellery cleaners do produce a sparkling result but the vigorous movements can cause stones to become loose or even fall out and thus should be used with caution (we would even go so far as to recommend avoiding ultrasonic cleaners and leaving it to the professionals). If you have done this recently, a professional jeweller can assist to check if the stones are still in intact and help resecure.
When cleaning or polishing, avoid using harsh fabrics or paper towels. Instead, opt for a microfiber cloth or soft fabrics made of cotton.
Chlorine bleach or abrasives (such as household cleansers or toothpaste) should never be used when cleaning diamond jewelry. Chemicals like chlorine can damage some of the metals used to alloy gold for diamond settings and abrasives can scratch gold and other metals.
